Leginkább a twitterezők szoktak összetalálkozni olyan hivatkozásokkal, melyek olyan oldalakra mutatnak, ahol megjelenésében zagyva, tartalmában értelmetlen threadek kavarognak. Na az a Tumblr.

A Tumblr 2007-ben indult, és akkor iziben ki is próbáltam, mert azt gondoltam, hogy biztos valami klassz Twitter-klón, amiből lehet tanulni valami újat. A közösségi szájt azonban már akkor is úgy nézett ki, mint egy light blogszolgáltatás: sokkal egyszerűbben és könnyebben lehetett tartalmakat megosztani. Csakhogy akkor még hiányzott belőle a közösség, úgyhogy értelme sem volt használni.

A Tumblr épp egy éve kezdett el komolyabban növekedni. Sikerült rávenni pár aktív arcot, hogy tolják a tartalmat, és az iPhone-verzió is hamar népszerűvé vált. Ezek a peremfeltételek, meg persze a kontent kontrollálatlan kicsatornázása Twitterre és Facebookra, megtette a hatását: 2009 második felére már egy több milliós felhasználótáborral pezsgő amerikai startup lett a Tumblrből.

Akik használják, mire használják? Ahogy az alapító, David Karp is jellemezni szokta, a Tumblr azoknak az embereknek a blogszolgáltatása, akik nem szeretnek sokat foglalatoskodni az írással, fogalmazással, és blogjuk építgetésével, főleg nem adminfelületek megértésével, html-lel és css-sel, fck-editorral és bonyolult almenüpontokkal, hanem inkább a közösségi része tetszik nekik a blogolásban.

Ha a Twitter a blogpost nélküli kommentezés, és közösségiség, akkor a Tumblr olyan, mintha ezeknek a kommentezőknek még egyszerű tartalomfeltöltési és újraosztási eszközöket is adnánk.

Egy átlag tumblrező rendszerint azzal tölti tumblres idejét, hogy ismerősei megosztott tartalmait lájkolja, reblogolja, és próbáljon olyan saját tartalmakat (szövegeket, képeket, videókat) megosztani, ami lájkolásra, reblogolásra készteti ismerőseit. A Tumblren erre egy egész ranglistázó cucc is épült, Tumblarity néven.

Amit kábé úgy kell elképzelni, mint a Plurk karmáját: a felhasználók pontokat kapnak, ha tartalmaikat ismerőseik megosztják, lájkolják. Ám az idő eltelvével, ha csökken a tartalmaik iránti érdeklődés, ezek a pontok elolvadnak.

(Január negyedikén amúgy váratlanul összeomlott az egész Tumblarity, utána pár nappal később ki is vették a szolgáltatásból. Valószínűleg nem sikerült élőben korrigálni a meghekkelt ranglistát. Mindenesetre a fejlesztők ígérete szerint, amint lehet, újra visszateszik a pontgyűjtögetős funkciót.)

Na ez a játékosság adja a Plurk és a Tumblr egyik fontos alaptulajdonságát is. Mi történik? Az emberek a web médiatartalmaival, és szövegekkel pingpongoznak, és igyekeznek pontokat gyűjteni ebből a szórakozásból. Ez egyrészt káros, hiszen a Tumblren a jó vagy érdekes tartalmak azonnal elmerülnek a semmiben. A bulvár, a hülyeség, a cukiság, és az otrombaság viszont gyorsabban népszerűsödik, mintha egy blog.hu-s blogra írná ki valaki.

Ahogy mondani szokás, a Tumblrt már olyan egyszerű használni, hogy nehéz megállni, hogy az ember ne firkálja össze a felkínált fehér felületeket. Annak ellenére, hogy a Tumblr valójában semmi más, mint a Blogger.com, a Twitter és a Plurk újraértelmezése, épp a felhasználói mentalitásra való jobb odafigyelés teremthette meg számára az utat a népszerűség felé.

Minden közösségi szájt esetében fontos, hogy kikből is tevődik össze az early adopterek köre. A Tumblr magyar közössége esetében elsősorban az Index és holdudvarába tartozó emberek hoztak egy nagyobb népszerűsödést. Jellemzően ők is a Twitterre automatikusan kipostolt tumblres linkjeikből szerezték első, komolyabb látogatottságukat.

És persze jópáran bent is maradtak a Tumblrben, lett egy kis akolmeleg. Szóba lehetett elegyedni olyan emberekkel, akiknek korábban csak az indexes/origós cikkeiket ismerték. A vezér Uj Péter lett, és nekem épp a következő, Tumblr-bulis képről jutott eszembe, hogy bizonyos értelemben maga az Index főszerkesztője talált magának a Tumblren egy új szerkesztőséget:

Merthogy a Tumblr-közösség, miként a Twitter közössége is, kifejezetten jó hatékonysággal tudja felszínre hozni és felszínen tartani azokat a tartalmakat, melyeket egy, a népszerűségből élő hírszájt mindig is szeretett volna nagy mennyiségben az olvasók elé tolni. Érdekes lenne egy bestof napi Tumblrt szemléző doboz az Index nyitóoldalán. Hely lenne rá.

Ma nehéz megmondani, hogy a Tumblr életképes-e. Például mennyire tűrne meg ez a fajta nagyon instant, nagyon tiszavirág életű tartalomgenerátor maga mellett egy hirdetési rendszer. Az mindenesetre jó hír, hogy a mobilplatformoknak pont olyan felfogású szolgáltatásokra van szüksége, mint amilyen a Tumblr. Gyorsan, egyszerűen lehessen játszani, szórakozni.

1. Mi a tumblr?

A tumblr egy ingyenes mikroblogszolgáltató, ami rendkívül gyorsan enged tartalmat közzétenni — egy gombnyomás követni valakit, és a tartalmát szintén egy gombnyomással reblogolhatjuk a saját blogunkra, ha megtetszik. Egyszerre lehetünk tartalomgyűjtők és tartalomelőállítók, egyik sem zárja ki a másikat. Van, aki csak saját dolgot tesz ki (saját fotókat, írásokat, rajzokat, videókat, podcastokat), más pedig tematikusan gyűjti a többiek tartalmát, gyakorlatilag kurátorként működik, esetenként (de nem kötelezően) kommentálja és kiegészíti a bejegyzéseket.

A blogok a felhasználók túlnyomó többségének önkifejezési, rajongási funkciót töltenek be, a szerzők az őket érdeklő témákat gyűjtik össze, a legtöbben afféle virtuális jegyzetfüzetnek használják, és sokkal privátabb, bensőségesebb a hangulat, mint egy hagyományos blognál. Ezt a saját nyelvezet, “szakszavak” is erősítik — a tumblr olyan, mint egy titkos társaság, sajátos életforma, belső poénokkal és a különbözőségek ellenére sok közös ponttal. Nagyon meg lehet szeretni, mert tényleg jó a társaság, és vicces, inspiráló, egyszerre nagyon lökött és közben — nyilvánvaló kivételektől eltekintve — mégis nagyon okos, empatikus, nyitott a banda. :) A többi blogszolgáltatóhoz képest szerintem a tumblr-ön aránylag több az életben egyébként visszahúzódó, introvertált, magát furának érző vagy barátokat nehezen találó felhasználó, akiknek a tumblr remek lehetőséget ad az önkifejezésre, megnyílásra, és a szociális szorongások nélküli kommunikációra, társas életre. Többen használják ugródeszkának, keresetkiegészítésnek az oldalt: itt osztják meg írásaikat, rajzaikat, és ezekből online boltot is tartanak fenn; munkáikat pólókon, bögréken árulják, felkérésre rajzolnak, rajongói conokon vesznek részt.

2. Hogyan kell regisztrálni és használni?

Pofon egyszerűen. Felmész a tumblr.com-ra, megadod az e-mail címedet, a jelszavadat, a választott felhasználóneved (ami majd a blogod elérési útja is lesz, pl. gyongyhajulany –> gyongyhajulany.tumblr.com; haha, ilyen blog még nincs), és már kész is vagy. Ekkor eljutsz a dashboard-ra (ami olyasmi, mint a Facebookon az üzenőfal), ahol a saját bejegyzéseidet és az általad követett emberek bejegyzéseit látod, időrendben, illetve itt jelennek meg az értesítések is (notes), ha valakinek tetszett a bejegyzésed (like), vagy reblogolta, esetleg válaszolt rá (reply).

Elég egyszerű a felület, gyakran módosítják, és akkor kitör a tumblr-forradalom, de aztán mindenki megszokja, és megy tovább az élet. :) Felül a nagy ikonokkal választhatod ki, hogy milyen típusú bejegyzést szeretnél írni: szövegeset, képet akarsz feltölteni, megosztanád egy kedvenc idézetedet, és így tovább. Legfelül a házikó ikonnal tudsz mindig visszatérni a dashboardra, a levél ikonhoz fog érkezni minden bejövő leveled (ha piros szám jelenik meg mellette, akkor örülhetsz, mert kaptál üzenetet). :) Ezekre válaszolhatsz nyilvánosan, illetve ha nem anonim emberke küldte, akkor privátban is.

Felül jobb felső sarokban a nagyítós rubrikában tudsz keresni téma illetve címkék szerint — a címkézésről majd később még írok bővebben, mert fontos. A jobb oszlopban található a blogod, ha rákattintasz a nevére, a dashboardon csak a saját bejegyzéseid látszanak. Hozhatsz létre mellékblogot is (sideblog), ha esetleg külön akarod választani a témáidat, de ha kérdést írsz valakinek névvel, mindig a főblogod nevével jelenik majd meg, és ha valakit bekövetsz, akkor is a főblogod nevét jelzi majd ki az illetőnek. A Customize részen tudsz sablont választani a blogodra, írhatsz bemutatkozó szöveget, tölthetsz fel avatart, és itt kapcsolhatod be azt is, hogy szeretnél-e kérdéseket kapni, illetve ha igen, akkor anonim kérdéseket is vállalsz-e. Ha nagyon profi vagy, belenyúlhatsz a kódba is, én csak itt a blogomon szórakozom ezzel, a tumblr-ön megelégszem egy teljesen gyári sablonnal. :)

Ha megtetszik egy tumblr oldal, és be vagy jelentkezve, a jobb felső sarokban a +Follow gombra kattintva követheted. (Ha pedig már nem akarod, akkor ugyanezen gomb helyett az -Unfollow jelenik meg, kattints erre, és nem látod többet.) A dash-en megjelenő bejegyzéseknél is követhetsz, ha pl. X reblogolta Y-t, és te szívesen bekövetnéd Y-t, hogy eleve lásd az ő összes bejegyzését is, akkor a neve melletti + jelre kattintva közvetlenül a dashboardról is követhetsz be embereket. Követendő blogokat a keresőben találhatsz, keress rá azokra a témákra, amik érdekelnek. Ha megtetszik egy kép, akkor a bejegyzés alatti [icon icon_name=”icon-retweet” icon_size=”” icon_style=””] jelre kattintva tudod reblogolni. Az én tumblr oldalamat itt találod, kövess be, ha akarsz. Szép belső terek, kaják, egyre gyakoribb kérdések (angolul is, mert valahogy lettek külföldi olvasóim is, és tök aranyosak! ♥), és egy csipetnyi fandom található nálam. Én is firkafüzetnek használom általában, nekem tumblr-özni kikapcsolódás, nem munka. :)

3. Milyen tartalmat találhatok itt?

Alapvetően tartalom szerint két nagy bandát lehet megkülönböztetni: a fandom blogokat, meg a többit. A “többi” lehet hipsterblog univerzumos, dalszöveges, meg starbucksos fotókkal, vagy például fitspo — ezek a sportolásra, egészséges életmódra buzdító blogok (fit + inspiration), ego blogok, humorblogok, és felnőtt tartalom is megjelenik. A fandom blog általában egy (vagy több) érdeklődési kör köré szerveződő bejegyzéseket, zömmel képeket, gifeket (ezek azok a képek, amik mozognak — tiszta Harry Potter, ami egyébként az egyik legaktívabb fandom :)), videólinkeket, kommentárokat, elemzéseket jelentenek, de nagyon sokan teszik ki a saját rajzaikat, írásaikat (fanfiction) is. Vannak kifejezetten egy-egy színész köré épülő blogok, mások pedig sorozatokat (Supernatural, Merlin, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Hannibal, Teen Wolf — csak hogy az éppen nagyobbakat említsem), filmeket (Avengers, és most éppen Pacific Rim), könyveket vagy ezek adaptációit (Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Gyűrűk Ura & Hobbit) veséznek ki a utolsó képkockáig és minden karakter pontos szemöldökrezdüléséig. :) Megdumálják, hogy ki kiknek szurkol, hogy összejöjjenek (shipping), ezen néha összevesznek, például a Harry/Hermione csapat a Ron/Hermione csapattal ölre tud menni. Igény szerint lehet ebben részt venni vagy kivonódni a buliból. :)

A korosztály eléggé megoszlik, rengeteg a kamasz (főként lányok), de alapvetően nagyon jó, baráti, szinte családias a közhangulat, néhány nagyobb felhördülést eltekintve. Az emberek zömmel rendkívül toleránsak, liberálisak (gyakoriak a feminista, pro-choice, body positive, sex positive, lgbtq, emberjogi tartalmak), egymást inkább bíztatják, motiválják a lehúzás helyett, ami rendkívül szimpatikus és tényleg addiktív, mert ha jó blogokat követsz be, akkor nagyon üdítő jófej embereket olvasni. De az biztos, hogy kell hozzá egy fiatalos mentalitás, mert eléggé pörög az élet, sok az internetes mém, kortárs (zömmel angolszász) kultúra, aktuálpolitikai tartalom, és hamar idegesítő lehet, ha nem tudsz lépést tartani. Az olvasók kérdéseken (ask) keresztül léphetnek kapcsolatba a blogok szerzőivel, amennyiben engedélyezve van, akár anonim módon is. Ez vagy őszinte megnyilvánulásokra, gyakran tabuk nélküli kérdésekre ad lehetőséget (ami fantasztikus), vagy arctalanság mögé bújó gyűlöletre (anon hate, cyber bullying, ami nem fantasztikus).

De igazából az a szabály, hogy nincs szabály, ezek csak tendenciák, a saját blogjára mindenki azt tesz ki, amit akar, a te birodalmad, a te felségterületed. Illetve legyél kedves, ne másolj (tehát ha tetszik valakinek a rajza, ne saját tartalomként töltsd fel, hanem reblogolj tőle, és jelöld a forrást!), és minden rendben lesz. :)

4. Hogyan szerezzek követőket?

Tumblr-t szerintem általában nem a népszerűség miatt nyit az ember, és akkor is megmarad nagyon személyesnek egy-egy blog, ha több tízezren követik. A nagyon népszerű (tumblr famous) felhasználók sokszor fejezik ki, hogy ők még mindig minden követőnek úgy örülnek, mint az első napon, és minden kérdést, like-ot szívesen fogadnak — ez az alázat nagyon szimpatikus tud lenni. Nekem ötszáz követőm van, nem is tudom, hogy jött össze ennyi, mert tényleg csak úgy hobbiból pakolgatok ki dolgokat, a saját szórakoztatásomra. :) Sokan azért nyitják az oldalukat, hogy tarthassák a kapcsolatot a barátaikkal, beszélgetnek, megvitatják a dolgaikat — kicsit kevésbé zajos a platform, mint a Facebook, és sokkal vizuálisabb is, ezért jól lehet inspirációkat, képeket megosztani.

Ha szeretnél embereket elérni, taggeld a bejegyzéseidet. Ez nem csak a követők miatt, hanem egyébként is rendkívül fontos szerepe van. A taggelés (címkézés) tematizálja a bejegyzést, így amikor valaki rákeres például arra, hogy “star trek”, akkor a te bejegyzésedet is látni fogja. A címkéket lehet szűrni — feliratkozol arra, ami érdekel, így nem kell mindig beírnod a jobb felső sarokban található keresőre. Ha tetszik egy címke, és követnéd, meg fog jelenni egy kék “track” feliratú gomb, arra nyomj rá, onnantól követed a címkét. A címkéket negatívan is lehet szűrni, tehát például ha nem akarsz valamit megjeleníteni, akkor letilthatod, hogy látszódjon a dashboard-odon. Erre a Tumblr Savior nevű kiegészítőt használják a legtöbben. Hasznos letiltandó tagek: bármilyen spoiler (pl. ha nézel egy sorozatot, akkor mondjuk a “#sorozatneve spoiler” taget érdemes tiltani), erotikus tartalmak (#nsfw, #porn, bár utóbbit van, aki a kajás bejegyzésekre is ráteszi, vagy szép könyvekre, vagy bármi, ami istenien néz ki :D). Nagyon fontos a trigger warning (tw), vagyis olyan figyelmeztetés, amit azokra a bejegyzésekre kell tenni, ami felkavaró tartalmat jeleníthet meg. A felhasználók közül többen küzdenek olyan betegségekkel, traumákkal amelyeknél nem szerencsés, ha például vért látnak, vagy anorexiával, öngyilkossággal, megerőszakolással kapcsolatos dolgokat olvasnak. A közösség őszinte és társadalmilag aktív jellege miatt ezek gyakran felmerülnek, de címkézni kell őket, még akkor is, ha a témák támogató vagy elemző cikkek, statisztikák, riportok, és nem explicit képek formájában jelennek meg. Az is lehet, hogy valaki egyszerűen csak nem akar ilyen tartalmakat látni, ezért ilyenkor érdemes a megfelelő tageket tiltani, pl. vér esetén a “#tw: blood” címkét. Ezekhez persze az is marhára kell, hogy aki ilyen képet tesz ki, az pontosan felcímkézze, különben nem fog működni a szűrő. Mivel azonban eléggé nyitott a közösség, és figyelnek egymásra, ez nem szokott gond lenni. Azért futottam már bele spoilerbe, amibe nem akartam, mert az illető elfelejtett taggelni, és mire eszébe jutott, már késő volt. Ez nálam kisebb gond, csak bosszúságot okozott, de akinek lehet egy pánikrohama egy adott képtől, annál már nem csak bosszúságról van szó. Szóval szerintem a tumblr netikett alapvető fontossága a taggelés, minimum a spoilerket és a felkavaró tartalmakat illetően. Ha nem címkézed fel, éppen melyik sorozatról vagy színésznőről tettél ki képet, az nem akkora tragédia, csak a te blogod kereshetősége szempontjából lehet érdekes.

5. Rossz mintát mutat a kamaszok számára?

Régebben sok kritika érte a Tumblr-t azért, mert a negatív dolgokat is jó színben tünteti fel - bár a közzétett posztokhoz az oldal üzemeltetőinek semmi köze nincs, hisz nem szabályozzák a megosztott tartalmakat. Így válhatott például vagánnyá és követendővé az anorexia pusztán azáltal, hogy csontsovány, de népszerű lányok posztoltak magukról szebbnél szebb fotókat, követőik száma pedig egyre csak nőtt.

Ám úgy tűnik, ezt a tendenciát most már igyekeznek visszaszorítani: amikor a "vékony" kifejezésre kerestünk, egyetlen találat nélkül az alábbi üzenet fogadott minket:

 Az üzenetben arra kérdeznek rá, hogy minden rendben van-e, valamint telefonos és online elérhetőségeket kínálnak fel arra az esetre, ha a felhasználó, vagy bármelyik ismerőse evési zavarokkal küzdene, esetleg más egyéb trauma érte, melyről nem szeretne beszélni a személyes ismerőseivel - a megadott linkeken olyan személyekkel veheti fel a kapcsolatot, akikkel ismeretlenül, névtelenül beszélgethet az őt ért sérelmekről.

Az tehát biztos, hogy az oldal üzemeltetői ma már próbálják korlátozni az olyan káros tartalmak terjesztését, mint például a kórosan sovány lányokról készült képek.

Az Istagramon tilos a felnőtt és erőszakos tartalom megosztása, s az üzemeltetők szintén extra figyelmet fordítanak az egyéb, fiatalokat érintő problémákra - az evészavaroknak például egy külön oldalt szenteltek a készítők részletes leírással, tanácsokkal, valamint (külföldi) elérhetőségekkel, mely az Instagram Súgóközpontban kapott helyet.

6. Hogyan óvhatod meg kamaszod?

Ha a Tumblr-t használja, először is ellenőrizzétek közösen az adatvédelmi beállításait és az egyéb szűrőket - állítsátok be azt, hogy ne jelenhessenek meg számára a felnőtt tartalmak. Az Instagramon - elvileg - ilyesmivel nem találkozhat.

Arról is el kell beszélgetnetek, hogy miért nem szabad túl személyes dolgokat megosztani a világgal - könnyen találhatja magát támadások kereszttüzében, ha olyasmit posztol, ami másokból indulatot válthat ki. Ha túl sokat enged láttatni magából, ki tudja, hányan fogják privát, “korhatáros” célokra használni a fotóit - előzd meg a bajt és verd ki a fejéből a gondolatot, hogy efféle képeket osszon meg magáról az egész világgal.

Nem könnyű manapság szülőnek lenni: egészen új kihívásokkal nézünk szembe, de tartanunk kell a lépést a technika fejlődésével és nem árt, ha legalább alap szinten ismerjük azokat az oldalakat, amiket gyermekünk használ. A legfontosabb feladat az, hogy megvédjük őket - míg a mi szüleinknek elég volt ellenőrizni a barátainkat és azt, hogy hol jártunk suli után, nekünk már arra is vetnünk kell egy-két pillantást, hogy mit csinál a gyerek a szobájában hajnalig - remélhetőleg nem a saját, meztelen képeivel árasztja el a világhálót.
